Mgmt for Technical Professionals - Overview

Major Description

This program is specifically designed to provide those experienced in a technical field with the skills to be successful in a leadership position and enhance their career mobility. This degree program is highly individualized based on each student's technical experience and educational needs.

Students who do not have experience in a technical field should consider the Supervisory Management Program.

Advanced Standing

Previous college course, certification, licensure, and training may be considered for credit in the major. The responsibility for seeking credit rests with the student and can be initiated by completing the course SMGT2950, Prior Experiential Learning Portfolio Development.

Program Delivery

The degree format is designed for flexibility. Students can begin this program fall, spring, or summer semester. Day, evening, weekend and online courses are offered. Full or part-time starts are available. Courses in this program are offered at DCTC's Apple Valley Higher Education site. Courses are scheduled monthly, so it doesn’t matter when you start. DCTC has transfer agreements for this program with the following colleges: Minnesota State University Moorhead, Southwest State University and Saint Mary's University.
